2015 Title Recodifications

Recodification of Title 23: Educational Institutions

Pursuant to § 30-152 of the Code of Virginia, the Virginia Code Commission voted to revise Title 23, Educational Institutions, as part of its 2014-2015 work plan. An advisory panel of practitioners experienced in this area assisted the Commission with this title recodification.

The Commission approved the final report (2016, S.D. 16) on the recodification of Title 23 at its meeting on November 16, 2015. House Bill 209 was introduced for consideration at the 2016 Session of the General Assembly and enacted as Chapter 588. 

House Bill 1538 was introduced for consideration at the 2017 Session of the General Assembly to make technical amendments relating to the recodification of Title 23. This bill was enacted as Chapter 314.
